Last Tuesday, I was able to have a full circle moment with Italy when I attended the celebration of the National Day at the Italian Embassy in Washington, DC! In early May, I was on a business development and personal recharge trip to Italy, where I also spent time in Rome, Florence, Tuscany, and Verona.
I was pleased that, at the National Day celebration, I was able to connect (L-R) with Embassy of Italy Congressional Liaison Maria Francesca Nespoli Carlberg, Forza DC Founder Madison Arcangeli, and DC Jazz Festival CEO Sunny Sumter.
While in Italy, it was awesome to connect with a dear friend and tech industry leader, Stanley Pierre-Louis (President & CEO of the Entertainment Software Association), while he attended the Global Gaming Summit in Rome.
At the National Day Celebration, it was an honor to listen to Attorney General Merritt Garland representing the Biden Administration as well as hear the words of Deputy Chief of Mission Alessandro Gonzales as he discussed the dynamic and important relationship between Italy and the United States.
Of course, there were also numerous cultural diplomacy points of interest - including jazz and opera performances, Italian wine, and food. Last, but not least, the opportunity to pose in front of three Lamborghinis (in the colors of the Italian flag nonetheless) was not to be missed!
Overall, I am grateful and excited to carry this and other experiences into my next chapter – which you may see me working in Italy/with Italian companies in the US! Stay tuned for more!
